Xenstay

How booking works

Xenstay is a front door, not a middleman. We keep a short list of places worth the journey and then get out of the way. The booking itself happens on Airbnb, under Airbnb's protection, with Airbnb's payment terms.

Do I pay Xenstay?

No. Xenstay never takes a card. When you tap through we open your stay on Airbnb with your dates and guests already filled in, and Airbnb takes the payment.

Why does it not show a price?

Because Airbnb is the only place that knows it. Rates on these stays move with dates, length of stay and Airbnb's own promotions, so rather than show you a number that might be wrong at checkout, we send you to the live price. Where we do hold a rate for a stay, we show a full itemised total instead.

Are the dates on the calendar really free?

Pick your nights here and Airbnb confirms availability before you pay. For stays whose host has connected a calendar feed, the dates here already mirror it.

Why not just book on Airbnb?

You can, and you end up in the same place. The collection here is small and edited, so you are choosing between a handful of places rather than a few thousand search results.

What if something goes wrong with my stay?

Your booking is an Airbnb booking, with Airbnb's cancellation terms, messaging and cover. Anything to do with the reservation goes through them.

Does Xenstay earn anything from this?

Yes. When you book through a link here, Airbnb may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing and it does not change the price you pay, which is set by the host on Airbnb.
